Comments: I'm leaving at about 10:00 and have room in my car for 2 passengers. Is there anyone who needs a ride from the Morganton area? We'll be driving to Statesville and then up 77 to 81 if there is anybody along the way. We have a place to sleep.

Comments: How to use this ride board: If there are no more bus seats available in your community (see the jan 27 section for details), then please post your car/van pool needs and offers here. It is up to you to make arrangements with your riders / drivers. We encourage carpoolers to gather at the same time and location as buses leaving from their community to make coordination easier. Exchange cell phone numbers!
If you would like to assist the most number of people going possible, you can contact the Bus Bank at http://busbank.com/, 866 428-7226 to arrange a charter bus if there are a lot of folks looking to go. Please connect with other local contacts to ensure the bets logistics and publicity of this option.
Another route to go is to rent a 10 or 15 seater passenger van through National, Avis, Thrifty, Budget, or other such car rental services. You can usually get a good weekend rate, and depending on distance and number of people sharing the costs, this option can run $20-50 per person. Drivers need to have a valid license and be 25 or older. Put a notice on this board if you are willing to do this.
Finally, please post your ride notice on unitedforpeace.org as well as here, as both sites get different NC traffic.
Best of luck, see you in DC!

Comments: I'd like to carpool and could possibly drive my car. Want to find place to stay overnight to return Sunday morning. Nice to have somebody to navigate and good with directions. |
